The most common pre-tour question: what should I wear in Dubai?

General Rule Normal Western clothing is fine in tourist areas, hotels, malls and beaches.

At Beaches Normal swimwear at hotel pools and public beaches. Cover up before entering restaurants.

In Malls and Public Areas No requirements, but avoid very revealing clothing.

At Mosques (including Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque) Firm rules. Ladies: covered arms, legs and hair. Men: long trousers and sleeved top. Free abayas at the Grand Mosque entrance.

In Old Dubai Shoulders covered, below-knee length ideal. Comfortable walking shoes essential for souk lanes.

What to Pack Light breathable clothes, medium jacket for evenings, comfortable walking shoes, light scarf for mosques.
